Specialized inpatient mental health and substance use treatment for eligible adults from across BC.
Red Fish provides trauma-informed, culturally safe inpatient treatment and recovery for adults who have a complex mental illness and substance use disorder, where treatment needs exceed what local community health resources or a health authority can meet. BC residents aged 19 and over may be eligible. Referrals are submitted through a health authority liaison; ask your mental health or substance use care team about the referral process. Length of stay varies by treatment stream and individual needs. This is a provincial referral service located on the former Essondale/Riverview lands.
