Members trained as medical first responders provide initial stabilizing care, including oxygen, AED/basic life support and spinal immobilization, until paramedics arrive. The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District operates and maintains the Beaver Creek Water System. Most of the Beaver Creek plan area is within its service area, while some properties use private wells. The OCP states that a few properties in southern Beaver Creek receive City of Port Alberni water and that some properties in the City are supplied by Beaver Creek community systems; property-level eligibility must be confirmed with ACRD. New connections require a separate application, property-owner signature, site drawing, applicable building and Island Health sewage permits, and payment. Current 2026 fees include a $200 application fee; a $4,200-per-lot connection charge or higher construction cost; possible development cost charges; single-family quarterly rates of $216 for the first 90 m³ plus $2/m³ above that; secondary connection quarterly rates of $246 for the first 90 m³ plus $2/m³ above that; approximately $292 annual parcel tax; and, if required, an $850 water-model analysis. Amenities listed by ACRD include public sand and obstacle-dirt riding rings, parking, non-motorized trails for equestrian use, cycling and walking, a seasonal portable restroom, picnic tables and a covered viewing area. The public riding arena is first-come, first-served with no formal booking system; contact ACRD and Backcountry Horsemen about events needing arena use.

Paper Mill Dam Park is owned by the City of Port Alberni but lies outside the City boundary in the ACRD, near Beaver Creek’s southern boundary. A City study describes informal recreation including walking, swimming, picnicking, fishing, river-tubing exit, photography and dog walking, with river access and a caretaker residence. A 2025 City report documents reduced maintenance funding and an existing service agreement with CMHA. Because the use description is from a 2017 study and access or facilities can change, confirm current public access and conditions before visiting.

Provincial park with waterfall, fish ladder, salmon viewing and walking trails.
Stamp River Park is northwest of Port Alberni and accessed by turning from Highway 4 onto Beaver Creek Road. BC Parks describes the park as an amalgamation of Stamp Falls and Money’s Pool. A 0.5 km trail from the day-use parking area reaches the fish ladder and waterfall; the southern park area has about 2 km of connected trails, while the 7.5 km Sayachlas t’a saa’nim trail is one-way and has access at both ends. Visitors can view spawning salmon from designated viewpoints; the runs begin in August and continue through late fall. Fishing is allowed subject to closures, including a closure 200 m above and 500 m below Stamp Falls from June 15 to November 15; check current fishing regulations. Swimming, floating devices and boating are prohibited in the park and above the falls. The park road is the only bicycle route; e-bikes are prohibited on trails. Dogs must be leashed and are excluded from beaches and park buildings. Trail surfaces and riverbanks can be slippery, with strong currents, waterfalls and wildlife hazards.
