Bulkley Emergency Support Services
Provider: Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako
Short-term emergency assistance for people displaced by a disaster in the Bulkley ESS service area.
The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako’s Bulkley ESS team serves Electoral Areas A and G, the Town of Smithers, Village of Telkwa, Witset First Nation, District of Houston and Village of Granisle. When activated, Emergency Support Services may provide food, clothing, shelter and incidentals for up to 72 hours and help reunite separated families and provide current incident information. For an active emergency requiring ESS within the RDBN, call 250-692-1553; supports are accessed at a designated reception centre or where local ESS responds. Self-registration is available through the provincial Access ESS system, but evacuees must still attend the reception centre.
