Free home wildfire-risk assessments, guidance on eligible cost-shared rebates and no-cost curbside pickup of eligible woody debris in Beaver Creek and other named ACRD communities.
Homeowners can request a free FireSmart Home Assessment from a trained Local FireSmart Representative for property-specific wildfire-risk recommendations. An assessment is the first step to determine whether work may qualify for cost-shared rebates; rebate amounts and eligibility vary. The no-cost residential curbside pickup accepts small trees and branches up to 4 inches in diameter, at most two piles per property, each no larger than 8 ft × 8 ft × 5 ft. Piles must be stacked at the curb with butt ends aligned. It does not accept gravel, soil, roots, construction debris, garbage, organics, invasive plants, grass clippings, leaves or other soft material. The ACRD names Beaver Creek, Cherry Creek, Sproat Lake, Beaufort, Port Alberni, Tseshaht First Nation and Hupacasath First Nation as served areas.
