CMS Food Bank provides food hampers once a month. Applicants must provide identification for themselves and dependants and proof of residence in the Cobble Hill, Mill Bay, Shawnigan Lake or Malahat area. New clients can call to make an appointment. The provider encourages clients to bring reusable bags. Published hamper service hours are Tuesday 9:00 am–2:00 pm and Thursday 9:00–11:00 am; confirm before attending because the provider page does not specify which day a registered household should use for its monthly pickup.

Grants of up to $500 per child per year toward registration fees for eligible children and youth aged 18 and under living in the Cowichan Valley.
Supports access to a season of sport by helping cover registration fees. Applications and grant administration are provided by the volunteer-managed KidSport Cowichan chapter. The chapter directs families outside Cowichan to KidSport BC’s Provincial Fund. Confirm current criteria and funding availability with the program.
