Volunteer-delivered meals and informal safety checks for homebound people across the North Shore.
Care BC delivers nutritious meals to seniors, caregivers, people with acute or chronic medical conditions, and people recovering from surgery, illness or injury. Volunteers also provide a brief informal safety check at each delivery. Meals are delivered Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10:30 am and 1:00 pm, with no deliveries on statutory holidays. Current options are hot meals for $10.95, frozen meals or breakfasts for $8.75, and sandwich packs for $7.25. A meal service application is required. Clients must be home during the delivery window; contact the Service Coordinator about eligibility, menu choices, ordering and cancellation requirements. North Lonsdale United Church provides kitchen and storage space and volunteers for meal preparation and distribution.
