Short-term emergency assistance for eligible residents forced from home by an emergency in the East Kootenay.
When local emergency officials activate Emergency Support Services (ESS), Canadian Red Cross volunteer teams may help evacuees with immediate basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter. Larger responses may include family reunification, emotional support and transportation. The RDEK guide says basic support is generally available for up to 72 hours and may be extended depending on the emergency. Evacuees can pre-register through the provincial ERA website and should follow current instructions from local emergency officials.

Volunteer fire protection, fire suppression, first responder medical assistance, motor vehicle incident response and community emergency preparedness.
The Moyie Volunteer Fire Department is a nonprofit society providing fire protection and first responder medical assistance in the Moyie Lake Valley. It lists response to structure and wildland-interface fires, motor vehicle accidents, initial first aid during medical emergencies, and community emergency preparedness. The department names the Moyie townsite among its service locations and reports its service area covers about 60 square kilometres. The society says its day-to-day operating costs are not currently funded by RDEK or other government agencies. Its contact page lists an emergency phone and a separate non-emergency phone; confirm the right contact for the situation.
