On-reserve community health, immunization, elder home care, specialist clinics, and Meals on Wheels.
Metlakatla’s on-reserve health programs include prenatal nutrition, alcohol and drug services, solvent abuse support, mental health, diabetes, communicable disease and injury prevention, drinking water safety, community nursing, and community health representation. The Health Centre also provides immunizations, first aid and home care for Elders, and arranges visiting dietitians, diabetes specialists, home assessments, physiotherapy and other specialists. The facility houses the Meals on Wheels program for residents. For members living off reserve, the Nation’s page says health care is delivered by Northern Health.
