The Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department is a Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen service. Its information package describes the Kaleden Fire District as covering more than 600 homes in Kaleden Proper, White Lake Road, St Andrews and Highway 3A west of Kaleden, plus the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory and specified Highway 97 properties from Gillespie House to Banbury Green. Penticton Indian Band lands are not directly covered. A separate road rescue area includes Highway 97 from Viewpoint to Gillespie House, Highway 3A to the far end of Yellow Lake, and Marron Valley Road and Twin Lakes/White Lake Road areas. Verify a property against the official protection map before relying on coverage. RDOS reported in July 2026 that service continued without interruption and interim leadership was in place.
