New Westminster Emergency Support Services (ESS) provides short-term services, generally for up to 72 hours, to preserve the emotional and physical wellbeing of evacuees and response workers in emergency situations. Support includes food, lodging, clothing, emotional support, and family reunification. Service is activated by the City at the incident site or at reception centres depending on the scale of the event. For immediate emergencies call 911. The Emergency Program Office can answer ESS enquiries at 604-515-3794 during its regular weekday office hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm).
