Salt Spring Island Emergency Shelter

Year-round, 24/7 minimal-barrier emergency shelter for adults experiencing homelessness or immediate shelter need.
Located at 268 Fulford-Ganges Road at the Island Community Services main site. Available year-round, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; maximum capacity 30 individuals. Provides a bed with linens, hot meals, showers, laundry and support connecting people to longer-term housing and services. Minimal barrier; no gender restrictions; pets can typically be accommodated. Adults over 19 are eligible; youth may be sheltered in exceptional circumstances. The shelter cannot accommodate people with acute or complex medical issues or behaviour presenting a risk of harm to others. Extreme Weather Response may add capacity when activated.
