Proposed shared community facility; local referendum scheduled for October 17, 2026.
The Peace River Regional District is proposing to establish and fund a community-space service for facilities such as community halls, outdoor gathering spaces and recreation amenities in and around Golata Creek. A referendum is scheduled for October 17, 2026. The existing hall at 6161 Golata Creek Road was closed in 2022 because of structural safety issues, and the replacement is not yet available. Residents in the project area, including Flatrock, are involved in planning. Check the official notice for the proposed service area, ballot information and status.
