Colquitz Middle School creates an inclusive learning community focused on academic and social development. The school offers exploratory programming, clubs and athletics, band, strings and choir, school plays and musicals, a school garden, and a Sustainable Resources class. The school day is Monday to Friday from 8:40 am to 2:49 pm on instructional days. School programs are for enrolled students; contact the school for enrollment and visitor information.

Colquitz Park follows the Colquitz River and includes Garry Oak green space, trails, a lookout, naturescape and connections to the Saanich Centennial Trail system and Panama Flats. The park has many access points along the river. Dogs must remain under control; leash-optional use is limited to 6:00–9:00 am, and dogs must remain leashed in the estuary and along the trail through Panama Flats.

The Mount View Colquitz Community Association advocates for residents, property owners and businesses in Mount View, Colquitz and the Saanich Core. Its work includes land-use planning, streetscapes, environment and parks, traffic and transportation, social wellness, community celebration and emergency preparation. General meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month, except July, August and December, from 7:00–9:00 pm at Pearkes Recreation Centre, 3100 Tillicum Road. Membership costs $5 per year and allows members to participate in association business and events.
