The Peace River Regional District operates the Charlie Lake Fire Department, which responds to emergencies in areas within the Charlie Lake area.
The department operates from one fire hall with a full-time fire chief and deputy chief and volunteer firefighters. The department responds to about 100 emergency calls annually and protects approximately 125 square kilometres and more than 3,700 residents. Hall staff are present Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. For emergencies call 9-1-1.
