The Greater Vancouver Food Bank distributes food at North Shore Neighbourhood House on scheduled Wednesdays, 9 am–5:45 pm, according to its September and October 2026 calendars. New clients must arrange a registration appointment; people experiencing food insecurity who live on the North Shore are eligible. A new client receives food at the first distribution visit with their own identification while household dependants are registered.

Applicants need proof of name and address; in-branch sign-up provides a physical card, while online applications require an in-person visit with ID to activate full borrowing privileges. Children aged 0–11 need a parent or guardian signature. A card can also be used to borrow from other participating BC public libraries through BC OneCard.

Capilano Community Services provides onsite, offsite and outreach programs for adults aged 55 and up, supporting social connection and independent living. Programs include social groups, activities, shopping trips and My Lions Gate BREAK dementia day program. Many programs are low-cost or no-cost. Some activities have specific location or geographic limits; ask about eligibility, registration, current schedules and fees. Free youth outreach and support, including an after-school program for grades 6–7 at Norgate Xwemélch’stn Elementary.
Capilano Community Services Society provides youth outreach, practical and emotional support, advocacy, referrals, and social activities. Its Norgate school program offers after-school activities and out-trips for grades 6–7. The wider youth program offers one-to-one support and accepts self-referrals from youth as well as referrals from parents or guardians, schools, health practitioners and community organizations.
