City-wide public park hours are 5:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m. unless otherwise posted. Waterplay is seasonal, from the Victoria Day long weekend in May through after Labour Day in September, weather permitting; drought conditions may cause closure. Dogs are not permitted in the waterplay area.

Sea Island Community Centre is at 7140 Miller Road, in Burkeville. The centre has a hall and playground. Sea Island Community Association works with the City to provide educational, cultural, social and recreation programs and events to Sea Island community members; the association also uses the Sea Island School gym and nearby tennis courts and Burkeville Park. Published facility hours are Wednesday 9:00 a.m.–noon and 4:30–5:30 p.m., and Thursday 9:00 a.m.–noon; closed other days. Room rentals are available: multipurpose room capacity 30, $31/hour; hall capacity 60, $60/hour and not wheelchair accessible; combined capacity 90, $91/hour. A $500 damage deposit, two weeks’ notice and liability insurance are required for rentals. Check current program, holiday and rental details with the centre.
