Health promotion and public health supports for women, children, youth, and families from Black Creek to Fanny Bay.
Supports residents from Black Creek to Fanny Bay, including Denman and Hornby Islands. Services include publicly funded immunizations for eligible adults, TB testing for eligible populations, STI testing for eligible people under 26, outreach immunization and STI testing, nutrition information from a registered dietitian, and youth clinics offering free confidential drop-in nursing services. Youth clinics provide pregnancy testing and counselling, STI testing and treatment, low-cost birth control and emergency contraceptive pills, free condoms, and referrals. Additional supports include the Baby Bed Program (free safe sleeping surface for new and expecting parents, no appointment, weekdays 08:30–16:30), breastfeeding support including Thursday drop-in 10:00–12:00, lactation consultants, and a Friday postpartum adjustments group 13:00–14:30.
