The emergency department at Bella Coola General Hospital is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Vancouver Coastal Health advises people to attend for major accidents or potentially life-threatening symptoms, including illness, injury or overdose. A drop-off area is beside the emergency entrance; people with limited mobility can be brought through the ED entrance. For an ambulance in the Bella Coola Valley, the Central Coast Regional District lists 1-800-461-9911. The regional 9-1-1 call service remains a proposal as of September 2026.
