Mental health and substance-use support for eligible adults age 19 and older.
Available to residents of Bella Bella, Denny Island, Heiltsuk Nation or surrounding Nations, age 19 and older, experiencing mental health concerns with or without substance-use concerns. No physician referral is needed. A team member can meet virtually, in person or by phone and help connect clients with an MHSU nurse or wellness worker, treatment or withdrawal management, counselling, harm reduction supplies, and other community resources. The team or Indigenous Patient Navigator can help connect clients with Patient Travel for out-of-community MHSU services. This is not an emergency service; for an emergency, go to Heiltsuk Hospital at 88 Waglisla Street. Email replies are expected within 72 hours; the team contacts clients during weekday business hours.
