The clinic is staffed by a Remote Certified Nurse; no physician is available on site. Services include assessment and care for common illnesses and minor injuries, reproductive and sexual health, and stabilization for hospital transfer if needed. The clinic advises calling 9-1-1 or going to an emergency department for life-threatening emergencies.

Arrival times vary; from October 1 to May 1 the return departure from Bamfield is after freight delivery rather than a fixed 1:30 pm. Check the current schedule before travel.

Island Health’s West Coast General Hospital has a 24-hour emergency department; patients are triaged by urgency. Services also include inpatient hospital care, medical imaging, medical laboratory and outpatient adult rehabilitation (doctor referral required).
