Community-based nursing, home care, dental and family health services for Esk’etemc.
Esk’etemc health programming includes home and community care, nursing, dental care, immunizations, family services, patient travel, and mental health and substance use referrals and education. The Community Health Nurse provides public health support, including prenatal and postnatal counselling, immunizations, infant and preschool health visits, and communicable disease education. Home and Community Care provides housekeeping, personal care, social activity support and assistance with health appointments. The Home Care Nurse provides acute care, assessments and care planning. The Children’s Oral Health Initiative serves pregnant women and primary caregivers, preschool children up to age four, and school children ages five to seven. The patient travel program coordinates transportation and access to eligible NIHB-covered care for Esk’etemc members. In-person services are in English. Listed hours are Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Esk’etemc Community Radio broadcasts at 96.1 FM. The station shares local announcements, upcoming events, meetings, programs, opportunities, stories and updates, alongside cultural expression, conversation and music.
Supported recovery housing and post-treatment support for adults who have completed substance use treatment.
Letwilc Ren Semec Centre provides housing, two meals daily, recreational activities, transportation to recovery activities and medical appointments in Williams Lake, care planning and help with community reintegration and housing after discharge. Admission requirements include age 19 or older, completed substance use treatment, motivation for self-directed change, willingness to follow centre protocols and a care plan, no self-harm activities, and ability to attend outside appointments and activities without supervision. Priority is given to Aboriginal clients. Stays of up to six months are available. The recovery home application package must be completed by a referral worker; the linked application form is completed by the client’s physician or nurse practitioner. Head Start through Grade 9 community school with cultural learning, counselling, meals and after-school support.
Sxoxomic follows the B.C. curriculum and incorporates Secwepemc values, traditions and language. It offers Head Start (K4/K5) through Grade 9, land-based education, in-person student counselling, breakfast and lunch, and after-school homework help, recreation and care. Admission is primarily open to Esk’etemc children; other Indigenous students in the region may be considered when space is available. To apply, submit the school registration form in person or by email; the school confirms placement and orientation.
